In the state of Florida public school teachers have been banned from holding classroom instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity after Florida's Gov. Ron DeSantis, signed the controversial "Parental Rights in Education" bill.

Working with the Jonathan Devan Lewis Foundation and GLSEN, KAMP designed, produced and procured 80 billboards throughout the state of Florida to raise awareness in opposition to the contentious “Don’t Say Gay” legislation.

The mission of the initiative is to reinforce that every student deserves to learn and grow in a school where they are supported and can focus on learning, rather than worrying about being treated differently.

Over the past decade, our friends Portugal The Man have established themselves as one of rock’s most prized possessions and a live phenomenon, with over 1,600 shows under their belts and a storied reputation as festival favorites.

KAMP helped bring to life the visuals for their latest single “What, Me Worry?”, On the inspiration behind “What, Me Worry?”, guitarist and lead singer John Gourley shares: "While recording this album and hanging in LA, we got into a conversation with Jeff Bhasker and Ryan Tedder about how much we missed laughter. The last few years it’s been so easy to forget the fun in what we do. We talked about childhood memories of laughing at the world and ourselves while flipping through Mad Magazine. We missed those days and remembered that we all make music. So we took that afternoon to make a song about it.”

Our favorite part of the video comes at around :35 where KAMP copywriter and local iconoclast Logan Corcoran makes his on screen debut as “sad clown”. Later this month (Feb 23), the band will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the track’s high-energy television debut. Watch the video below.

Bless Your Heart Burgers will donate $1 from every burger sold to local nonprofit partner, Neighborhood House, whose mission is to help neighbors across the community, supporting self-reliance through innovative and life-changing programs and services for people in need.

In December of 2020 Kamp Grizzly threw their very first digital holiday party with Twitch segments from friends and collaborators that we missed working with over the pandemic. The Holiday Platitudes Infomercials in partnership with Fisk Projects were an immediate fan favorite and received its own writeup on Art and Design outlet It’s Nice That:

“In a new collaboration between two esteemed Portland-based design studios, Fisk and Kamp Grizzly have come together to give meaning to words that are overused but underutilized. The six words in question are collaboration, community, goodwill, empathy, gratitude and family – six notions expressed through a set of platitude plates with all proceeds going to the Oregon Food Bank. The platitude plates are designed with lasting appeal and everyday dining in mind. Manufactured in the US with scratch-resistant features to prevent chipping, the charitable project began at the end of last year when (we’re sure most of us can agree on this) there was a great need for joy and lightness to end 2020 on a much-needed high.”

For decades Communication Arts magazine has catalogued the visual communications that inspire and define generations. For issue 61 of this very respected design annual Kamp Grizzly takes the spotlight in a multipage feature written by Portland based journalist Claire Sykes.

In late 2019, we had the very unique opportunity to work in collaboration with Kuumba International in Tokyo to create a custom incense scent and burner can.

The original Stay Purple scent burns with the fragrance of grape, tobacco and vetiver.  The accompanying iconic Kuumba Burner Can is finished in a glossy periwinkle and holds the sticks upside down, catching the ashes as they burn.

As we all deal with the effects of COVID 19, we hope that this scent can lift the vibe of our shelters as we practice social distancing.  To support ongoing efforts to combat the virus, we will be donating 100% of the sales proceeds from these products to Meals on Wheels, helping to provide nourishment and independence to senior citizens across the country through these trying times.

Street Roots is a Portland Oregon based advocacy group creating income opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and poverty by producing a newspaper and other media that are catalysts for individual and social change.

Kamp Grizzly partnered with Street Roots to create a limited edition run of totes, t-shirts and sweatshirts with all proceeds to support Street Roots ongoing efforts! Each of the totes and t-shirts features exclusive designs made for Street Roots by local, Portland artists: Rob Lewis, Eric W. Mast, Bijan Berahimi and Sora Shodo.
