LANE STEWART GALLERY

KAMP Gallery presents the debut solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based filmmaker, photographer, and Halcyon Veil co-founder, Lane Stewart. Grey Area is a collection of photographs and a 3-channel video installation created between 2018 and 2025, spanning a period of nomadic living when the concept of home remained perpetually elusive. This body of work explores the alchemical process of finding comfort within uncertainty.

Alongside the exhibition, Stewart and KAMP ABC produced a corresponding book of photographs created in this same period. The works in this book give shape and reflect an emotional gravity through the tension of light and shadow. An interior pull between intimacy and distance, proposing that solace is found not in certainty, but in the grey areas of identity, belonging, and becoming. Images are risograph and thermo-printed on heavyweight grey paper and bound with metal fasteners, allowing users to separate the book into individual prints.
